TONIGHT 9/24: FIND LOVE AT THE MALTED BARLEY WITH SPEED DATING
We think it’s fair to say that most people have had it with the dating apps… So why not try something new? Tonight, Thursday, Sept. 24, The Malted Barley—our favorite spot for pairing a housemade pretzel with a beer—is hosting a speed dating event. If you’re single and in the 25-35 age range, then this might be the thing for you!
Sign up online ahead of time and then head to The Malted Barley on Westminster Street in downtown Providence from 6-8 pm. Grab a drink, meet new people, and see if sparks fly in this low stakes, fun environment.
ROOFTOP SILENT BOOK CLUB AT SYMPOSIUM BOOKS THIS WEEKEND
Looking for a bookish community in Providence? Symposium Books on Westminster Street regularly hosts author events, book clubs, and all sorts of book-related community events. And this weekend, there’s another Silent Book Club meeting! On Saturday, Sept. 26 from 1-3 pm, simply head to the bookstore with whatever you’re reading and a staff member will bring you to the nearby downtown rooftop garden.

SAVE THE DATE: QUEEN OF HEARTS CELEBRATES 20 YEARS
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: one thing that makes downtown Providence so special is all of the small businesses. And we’re always so happy to celebrate anniversaries, big and small. This year, on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 12-5 pm, Queen of Hearts and Modern Love—a lovely boutique on Westminster Street—is throwing a 20th anniversary bash.
