9 FUN THINGS TO DO IN DOWNTOWN PVD BEYOND DINNER

We were recently thinking about all the options for activities in downtown Providence that go beyond just grabbing dinner or a drink… There are so many cool restaurants, bars, and small businesses that offer fun and unique things to do! So we put together this roundup over on Instagram with nine ideas.

From the “Daily Spin” program at Murmur HiFi Lounge, to karaoke at The Boombox, to book club at Symposium Books, there is probably something for everyone…


CATCH THE US OPEN MATCHES & MORE AT ROLLERS SPORTS BAR & GRILL

The next few weeks are stacked with Tennis programming at Rollers Sports Bar & Grill! Through Sunday, Sept. 13, enjoy daily U.S. Open matches on the big screens, plus:

- Ball Kid’s Funhouse from 4-6:30 pm everyday

- Challengers movie night on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 8:30 pm

- Special “Lounge Menu” offered everyday (including Olneyville Chopped Cheese, Peach Cobbler Sando, Match Point Martini, Juan Deuce, Carlitos Cup, and more)

- And “Rollers Night Session: Vintage Tennis Party” on Sunday, Sept. 6 from 7 pm to 12 am.

NEXT THURSDAY: *LAST* MOVIES ON THE BLOCK OF SUMMER 2026

We cannot believe that summer is winding down and our fourth and final Movies on the Block of Summer 2026 is next week... We hope to see you for The Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring on Thursday, Sept. 10 at Grant's Block Park in downtown Providence, RI.

Movies on the Block is our free outdoor movie screening series that has run once per month this summer. Pack up your beach chair, head to Providence, feast on some bites from Oberlin, and settle in for an exciting journey across Middle Earth after sunset.
