And we understand how challenging it can be to wade through all the happenings and decide what events to attend, where to eat, and what to shop for. That’s why we’re here to share the top things we’re excited about in the coming week in each installment of “The Weekly.” Each week, we’ll rant and rave unabashedly about just a slice of the food, fun, and fantastic items that we’re currently obsessed with in downtown Providence, RI.

SAVE THE DATE: PVD DOWNCITY HOLIDAY MARKET THIS DECEMBER
We know it feels strange to think that the holidays are right around the corner, but it's true! We're already thinking about the return of the PVD Downcity Holiday Market from Thursday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025. (In fact, we announced this event in a segment on NBC 10 WJAR just yesterday!)
InDowncity has teamed up again with the Providence Tourism Council to bring a festive outdoor market to the heart of downtown Providence, RI. Grant's Block Park and the adjacent Westminster Street will transform into an enchanting outdoor marketplace for visitors and residents alike to meet, shop, drink, eat, and support local businesses.
We're especially excited about the full marketplace day (we'll be closing down the streets for it) on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 12-6 pm. We’ve been happily overwhelmed with incredible vendor applications, but have just a few limited spots left so make sure to get those applications in here by Wednesday, Oct. 15 for consideration.
JEPHRY FLORAL STUDIO HOSTS OPENING PARTY AT NEW LOCATION
It feels like just yesterday that we were announcing Jephry Floral Studio’s relocation to downtown Providence… But here we are! The Jephry team are now set up and settled in at their storefront on Westminster Street, and they’re ready to celebrate.
Please help us welcome this beautiful flower shop to the neighborhood during their opening party on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 5-7 pm at 326 Westminster Street. There will be music, cocktails, mocktails, and gourmet pretzels, plus the first 50 guests will receive a complimentary bouquet as a sweet little memento! QUEEN OF HEARTS BOUTIQUE CELEBRATES 19 YEARS OF BUSINESS
Providence is such a special place very much because of its vibrant art scene and unique small business community! That’s why we are always very excited to celebrate any significant milestone. This month, fashion boutique Queen of Hearts will celebrate their 19th anniversary in downtown Providence. Queen of Hearts will host an anniversary party on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 pm with refreshments and a special drag show at their store at 220 and 222 Westminster Street.
For a little history lesson, Queen of Hearts opened in 2006 mainly selling original designs by owner Karen Beebe, before eventually moving to Westminster Street and expanding both in space (sister store Modern Love opened in 2010) and in inventory! Now, Queen of Hearts and Modern Love live side by side and stock clothing, accessories, pantry items, gifts, and so much more.
