TONIGHT: *LAST* MOVIES ON THE BLOCK ON OCTOBER 2
Due to the rainy forecast on Thursday, Sept. 25, we’re moving our final Movies on the Block screening of The Wizard of Oz to tonight on Thursday, Oct. 2. Join us for this free outdoor film screening at Grant’s Block Park in downtown Providence, RI.
This classic 1930’s film will take us from Kansas to the mystical land of Oz. The show starts between sunset and dusk (so think after 6 pm!) and seating at Movies on the Block is not provided so bring a beach chair or picnic blanket and show up early to save your spot. (Psssst Grant’s Block was at full capacity well before the movie started last time, with folks even showing up over two hours ahead of time to setup)!
Some quick notes: bring extra layers to wear since it may be chilly! Please do bring a picnic dinner, or purchase food to-go from the surrounding small businesses. Although we love Dorothy’s faithful friend Toto, please do not bring your pets. See you on tonight, friends!
4 DOWNTOWN PROVIDENCE CAFES NOW SERVING FALL FLAVORS
One of our favorite things to do when autumn begins is to go from cafe to cafe trying each of the special seasonal flavors. From matcha to scones, we’re embracing all the maple, apple, and pumpkin spices! Here’s some of the cafes in downtown Providence that are now offering a selection of fall food and drink (and you can check out our Instagram reel all about it).
Little City Coffee & Kitchen has not only Apple Cinnamon and Pecan Pie syrup for coffee and matcha, but also a full bakery case: Apple Sage and Cheddar Scones, Gluten Free Pumpkin Muffins, Pumpkin Pecan Blondies, and more. Bolt Coffee has went all in on fall with an especially tasty take on the ever popular Pumpkin Spice Latte, plus a Black Cherry Sage syrup that goes deliciously in Matcha.
Small Point Cafe has introduced a whole flavorful slew of fall drinks, including Pumpkin Pie Lattes, Dark Cherry Matchas, Brown Butter Lattes, and the Smokey Maple Lattes. Order any of these to go with a Snickerdoodle Cookie or Cinnamon Bun. And at Ellie’s, everything is getting very cozy. Try the Maple Latte, the Killer Bee Latte (for a little spice), or the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Their Apple Cranberry Ginger Scones are delightful! And their seasonal macarons are also available.
SHOP FOR HALLOWEEN DECOR AT THIS INDEPENDENT SHOP ON WESTMINSTER STREET
Once the pumpkins and mums start popping up on stoops and in shop windows, we know that Halloween is likely around the corner! For the season this year, we’re heading right to Homestyle on Westminster Street to browse their seasonal decor.
If you are hosting any spooky parties—or simply want to fully embrace the season—we cannot look away from this very darling Spiderweb Charcuterie Board! Know any plant parents? The Skull Cachepot Planter is just waiting to haunt someone’s living room… And of course we love anything that really brightens up a room, such as these Pumpkin String Lights…
