The Weekly: 10/30/25 Guide to Downtown Providence
In Providence, there’s always something interesting going on! And we understand how challenging it can be to wade through all the happenings and decide what events to attend, where to eat, and what to shop for. That’s why we’re here to share the top things we’re excited about in the coming week in each installment of “The Weekly.” Each week, we’ll rant and rave unabashedly about just a slice of the food, fun, and fantastic items that we’re currently obsessed with in downtown Providence, RI.

HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS IN DOWNTOWN PROVIDENCE
Halloween week is upon us! And in case you missed our Halloween edition of The Weekly, there is so much going on in downtown Providence for this spooky time of year… From cocktail bar costume contests, to a Halloween party thrown at our favorite downtown bar and nightclub, to ghostly bookish events, we shared about a little bit of everything!
Plus we’d like to add a few more additions, including a costume contest at Ellie’s specifically for the pups, and an opportunity to get a bit—dare we say—crafty with the “Hex Your Ex” event at The Malted Barley on Sunday, Nov. 2. If you’re looking for last minute costume ideas, check out this inspo from the vintage collection at The Vault Collective on Westminster Street. And need some ghoulish decor? Pop into Homestyle to shop their Halloween items!
CIELITO HOSTS FESTIVE DAY OF THE DEAD CELEBRATION
This weekend marks the annual Mexican tradition of Dia de Los Muertos, also known as the Day of the Dead. And Cielito Mexican Kitchen, a popular restaurant featuring many dishes from the Mexican state of Michoacán, is hosting a celebration on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 5-9 pm in honor of the holiday!
“We’re creating a space to honor loved ones who have passed while celebrating life with joy and remembrance,” Cielito shared on Instagram. Festivities will include special menu items, a live Mariachi band, and traditional decorations throughout the restaurant. Reservations are recommended and can be made right here.
PVD DOWNCITY HOLIDAY MARKET MARKETPLACE VENDORS ANNOUNCED
Fresh off the presses: after much anticipation and an enthusiastic response from our small business community, we are so excited to share the marketplace vendors for the upcoming PVD Downcity Holiday Market! (With more to come, too.) This festive event will transform Grant’s Block Park and the surrounding streets into a winter wonderland from Dec. 4-7, 2025. There will be a rotating lineup of marketplace vendors, live music, food trucks, a heated lodge, and more over the course of four days.
And we just announced the vendor lineup a few days ago over on the @indowncitypvd Instagram (with more to come) but browse all the details right here! We’re especially excited for our biggest market day, Saturday, Dec. 6. We’ll be shutting down the streets and filling them with food trucks and 20+ tents with artists, makers, and artisans selling their wares.
