Whether you’re celebrating your Mom, Grandma, or another mother figure in your life on Sunday, May 10, this is a great occasion to enjoy a meal together. (And for all those who find Mother’s Day to be a tough or complicated day, we are sending you all the love.) If you haven’t already made reservations, here’s some ideas of restaurants in downtown Providence, RI that we recommend reaching out to inquire about availability… Or, if you dare, you can always try testing your luck and walking in!
BRUNCH AND LUNCH

Sushi, noodle dishes, and more await you for both lunch and dinner at Sura on Westminster
Recently opened Phed Phed serves up delicious Thai dishes for lunch and dinner on Washington Street
DINNER IDEAS
Perhaps you prefer a later meal, or you’re unable to wrangle the family at an earlier time. Either way, we have quite a few ideas for spots to bring your mother figure for dinner in downtown Providence:
Amaryllis is a cozy farm-to-table spot open at 5 p.m.
Interested in Neapolitan-style pizza? Figidini on Washington is the way to go
Cielito Mexican Kitchen on Union Street serves up fresh tacos, corundas, and more
For those who love slurping oysters or devouring fresh crudo, Gift Horse on Westminster is a must

Mémère’s is the newest kid on the block and it’s a French-Canadian inspired bistro that recently opened within the Neptune Hotel
CASUAL FARE
Looking for a more casual experience to spend with Mom? If you want to keep it chill and focus more on the company and the excellent food than dressing up to the nines, then we have plenty of ideas (and each of the following spots are open for both lunch and dinner):
On Washington Street, Tori Tomo’s ramen always hits the spot
Housemade pretzels abound—and they can be made gluten-free—and beer flights flow at The Malted Barley on Westminster Street
Suya Joint is a West African restaurant that serves up flavorful Jollof Rice, stews, fried plantains, and more
We hope you eat something delicious and have a wonderful weekend, PVD!
