Vegan Food in Downtown Providence

We hear that PVD Vegan Restaurant Week is upon us, beginning Friday, October 29 through Sunday, November 7. If you have ever wondered where you can find a vegan bite to eat all year round in downtown Providence, though, we have nine fantastic places we recommend!

NOTE: While each of these restaurants offer delectable vegan offerings, always mention your allergy or dietary restriction to your server to confirm preparation and ingredient specifics.

Bowl of noodles with broccoli and sesame crisps

Hot Flavor Sesame Noodles by North

NORTH

North has a vegan noodle dish that is calling your name: the Hot Flavor Sesame Noodles. The noodles are thick and topped with tasty sauce, toasted broccoli, and sesame crisps... Keep an eye out for vegan specials and dessert, such as the divine vegan coconut ice cream I enjoyed in the summer.

SMALL POINT CAFE

Small Point Cafe regularly offers an inviting array of pastries (such as their blueberry muffin), breakfast, and lunch items that are plant-based. Hearty grain bowls, sandwiches, and bagels can all be made with a selection of entirely vegan toppings!

Bun with lettuce and veggie burger; fries; and beer.

Vegan Sweet Potato Black Bean Burger at Trinity Brewhouse

TRINITY BREWHOUSE

Vegan appetizers, entrees, sides, and more are all on the menu over at Trinity Brewhouse. Start off a visit with a bowl of flavorful Three Bean Chili or a Trinity House Salad (hold the cheese), and then order a Sweet Potato Black Bean Burger and a side of steamed broccoli, sautéed green beans, three bean salad, or fries.

FIGIDINI

Need a plant-based pie in your life? Great news: Figidini offers both a delicious Vegan Marinara Pizza and a delicious Vegan Margherita Pizza! The Marinara includes Barrett’s Garden farmesan, while the Margherita is topped with Barrett’s Garden cashew mozzarella.

Bowl of ramen with broccoli and tofu

Veggie Ramen at Tori Tomo

TORI TOMO

If you’re looking for fantastic “traditional Japanese and innovative dishes” and a menu brimming with vegan options, Tori Tomo is the place to go. There are so many great dishes to try: for small plates, both Salted Edamame and Garlic Chili Edamame. The Yasai Don Rice Bowl—brimming with an organic mushroom medley, caramelized onions, tofu, black garlic, and more—is filling and flavorful. Out of the extensive ramen offerings, the Veggie Ramen, Tomato Ramen, and Kimchi Ramen can all be made with vegan ingredients.

THE MALTED BARLEY

Looking for the vegan pretzel of your dreams? Well, good thing we have a local champion of pretzels downtown: The Malted Barley! The restaurant regularly offers a gluten-free and vegan pretzel that can be devoured with any of their sandwich or dessert toppings. Salads—and often the soup specials—are also available without animal products. If you’re just snacking, order a pretzel and enjoy vegan hummus or guacamole.

Beet Sandwich at Bolt Coffee Co

BOLT COFFEE CO

Want to munch on a spicy plant-based sandwich while enjoying your coffee? Meet Bolt Coffee Co’s Beet Sandwich! Braised beets, mustard, pickled vegetables, and greens all on a brioche bun… How can you say no to that?! (I absolutely cannot, let me tell you…)

ROSALINA

Amidst all the golden, steaming strings of linguine, enjoy an incomparable vegan Cauliflower Steak at Rosalina! Alongside the pasta and steak, the dish includes cashew cacio e pepe, vegan parmesan, and scallions.

Salad with tomatoes, cucumber, onions, peppers, olives, and cheese

Horiatiki Salad at Kleos

KLEOS

From salads to entrees, the staff at Kleos know how to prepare some pretty exemplary vegan food. Try the Horiatiki Salad, made with tomatoes, peppers, kalamata olives, capers, onions and oregano, and make sure to ask for a substitution of “tofu feta” for the feta! Craving fried zucchini and eggplant? The legendary Tzatziki Tower can be ordered with vegan tzatziki sauce! The Briam entree is a classic, boasting an array of nutritious and delightful vegetables.
