Spring 2024 Fashion in Providence

We could not be happier to welcome spring to Rhode Island with open arms! The days are longer, the birds are tweeting in the tree branches, the flowers are springing up… And spring 2024 fashion trends have dropped. We always like to keep an eye on the trends and then shop local for all the clothing, footwear, and accessories. So we’ve consulted Glamour, Vogue, and Byrdie and here’s what we’re buying from small businesses in downtown Providence, RI!

WHAT’S TRENDING…

Adidas Busenitz, Civil, $63

Some colors, in our opinion, never go out of style! So we’re excited to see that one of our personal favorites is all over runways, according to Glamour, and in stores this season: bergundy everything! We recommend adding a comfy pair of Adidas to any outfit this spring.

Spartina Sea La Vie Shell Necklace, Homestyle, $38

One Spring 2024 jewelry trend that we’re especially loving? Seashells! Of course we’re running after anything that makes us feel extra Rhody, like this matte gold plated necklace…

Compañia Fantastica Fruit Salad Button Up Shirt, Queen of Hearts and Modern Love, $74

Whether the skies are blue or not this season, you can bring a bit of brightness to any room yourself in this fun top! (Also, we think this shirt is fun whether or not sky blue is trending right now).

Green 2000s Floral Dress, The Vault Collective, $68

What print just screams spring? Florals, of course! And we are here for this gorgeous vintage dress (yes, the early 2000s can now be considered vintage since it’s been 20 years- wild, we know).

Vans x Palace Safe Low, Civil, $100

Thank God for our feet, sneakers are still trending! “Practicality with a fashion twist reigned supreme on the runways,” write Talia Abbas and Madeline Fass of Vogue, “from Miu Miu to Dries Van Noten and Stella McCartney—all who of presented elevated takes on the sporty sneaker.” While we’re not quite ready to cough up $400+ for a designer pair of sneakers, we’re loving this comfy pair of Vans!

White Pebble Stud Earrings, Craftland, $50

As shiny, bubble-shaped earrings take the world by storm, we’re embracing the trend with this smaller, rounded porcelain pair from Craftland.

Just Black The Vintage Straight Denim, Queen of Hearts and Modern Love, $59

Nothing can quite replace a favorite pair of pants, so why not try one of ours: this fun burgundy denim from Queen of Hearts and Modern Love is a must-have (especially since the color burgundy is trending).

Ivory Silk Pleated Ruffle Blouse, The Vault Collective, $175

Channel your inner pirate, we guess, because ruffles are in this season! (We know you’ve been waiting for this moment ever since the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise began.) According to the folks over at Glamour, “Designers are just as sold on bows, rosettes, ruffles, and lace as the rest of social media.”

Keva Style Black Floral Studs, Homestyle, $34

“April showers may bring May flowers,” writes Samantha Crompton of Byrdie, “but the spring 2024 runways brought forth standout floral jewelry that might just be groundbreaking.” Want a local take on the trend? We think these stud earrings from Homestyle are just too cute!

Endless Sunnies, Queen of Hearts and Modern Love, $24

As we spend more and more time outdoors, it’s important to protect our eyes and look good at the same time. Try these sunglasses the next time the sun shines a little too brightly!

Z Supply Kyara Stripe Midi Dress, Queen of Hearts and Modern Love, $129

We love that Glamour has noticed “high-visibility stripes are also everywhere this season” because we are fully committed to wearing this sweet sundress as much as possible.

Art X Fashion by Nancy Hall-Duncan, Symposium Books, $45

Want a little extra homework when it comes to fashion? Check out Art X Fashion for a historical view of how trends have originated in the past, from designers like Coco Chanel to artists like Pablo Picasso.
